What is Microneedling?
Microneedling, or collagen induction therapy, leads the way in skin rejuvenation. The purpose of the treatment is to generate new collagen and skin tissue for smoother, firmer, more toned skin. This treatment carries no risk or downtime. It is a procedure using an automated pen device, which is passed across the surface of the skin creating superficial punctures that stimulate a healing response.
Microneedling creates minute channels in the skin using a cartidge of sterile needles. Active ingredients can then reach the dermis - absorption of the ingredients increases by up to 300%. During the consultation, individual serum(s) are selected tailoring the treatment to your individual needs.
Microneedling treats ageing skin, uneven skintone, pigmentation, acne scarring, rosacea, fine lines, wrinkles, scarring, open pores, frown lines, dark circles, crows feet, and stretch marks.
For the best result, a course of 3 treatments at 4 weekly intervals is recommended.
Does it hurt?
It doesn't hurt, but it is a little uncomfortable. The forehead, hairline and jawline can be more sensitive than other areas. Following the treatment there is no significant downtime, most people leave a little red, but the redness will fade. Within 24 hours you can resume your usual face care routine. Your skin will feel soft and visible differences can be noticed including pore size reduction. Some tightness can be experienced but applying hydrating serum and moisturiser can ease this, product absorption increases, and topical products feel deeply penetrating.
